Congratulations Mr. Little - Teacher of the Year

Mr. Kevin Little has been named Region 3 Teacher of the Year by California League of High Schools.   This award is given annually to 11 educators throughout California, who exemplify educational excellence and have made significant efforts to implement elements of educational reform in high schools.  Next month, Mr. Little will represent the Sacramento Region at the state level for the selection of the California League of High School's Educator of the year.



Need to make up credits??? Try APEX here at PGHS

APEX is an online program offered here at PG where you can make up a semester class in only a few short weeks.

The deadline to turn in your APEX application is Friday, January 23rd.  Space is limited to only 30 students, so turn in your application ASAP.

The APEX class begins on Monday, February 2nd and runs until March 26th.  However, the class is at your own pace and most students finish the class earlier.

If you have questions about APEX you can see your counselor, or Dr. vanBrenk, Vice Principal for help. 

Also, you can click in the link "APEX Course Information and Important Dates" for more information about APEX.

Applying is simple:

  1. Click HERE fill out the form and press submit.  A completed application form will be instantly (well, almost instantly) emailed to you.
  2. Print it out, have you and your parent sign it.
  3. Turn in the signed application to the Student Services office, at the front counter, in the box labeled, "APEX Applications".


This event is put on by the Red Cross. In the cafeteria, bring blankets or sleeping bag. Although minimal space so please be considerate of what you bring.

Admission is $3.00

WINTER SHORTS (Wed., 1/28 @ 6:30)--Advanced Theatre's Showcase of Duet Scenes, Monologues, Musical Theatre, and an One-Act piece (Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992)
**The Advanced Theatre class will compete in the Lenaea Theatre Festival at Folsom Lake College Feb. 6-8.**

January 2015 - 

  • Class of 2011 graduate Arik Armstead will forgo his senior year at University of Oregon and enter the NFL draft. NFLDraftScout.com projects Armstead to go in the first or second round draft, April 30-May 2 in Chicago.
  • Class of 2012 graduate Cole Hikutini played football for Community College of SF (CCSF) this past year.  He helped his team get to the state championships and was named "First Team All American" at the tight end position.   This fall Cole will be playing for the University of Louisville in Kentucky on scholarship.

Sober Grad Night Committee Members will be on campus selling tickets at PGHS during both lunches EVERY Wednesday throughout the month of October.  Buy your ticket now for $60 before the price goes up on December 1st.
