PG YEAR #12 

Congratulations to the Pleasant Grove Robotics team for competing in the World Championships in Houston, Texas.  EagleForce finished 6th on their field out of 66 teams from all over America and the world.  The team also won the “Innovation and Control” award for the functionality of our onboard sensors.

Gooooo EagleForce!!!!! :)

SENIOR PARENT INFO NIGHT is tomorrow night (Tuesday) from 6-7 in the Cafeteria.

 

Yearbook is currently accepting applications for next year’s yearbook class.   Do you like taking pictures or writing.  If so, yearbook is the place for you.  Be a part of documenting the school year.  All yearbook students receive a free yearbook too.  Pick up an application from Ms. Zanardi in HG6.  Applications are due Tuesday, May 2 and interviews will be held May 4th and 5th during both lunches(J. Zanardi, 5/2)  

 

AP NEWS:

 

A.P. Psychology is still open and looking for ALL interested students. See your counselor to request this class.  

HIGHLIGHTS / FEATURES OF CLASS:   no summer work required, review sessions before every test, test corrections on all unit tests, wave the spring final if AP exam is taken, early AP exam date for testing, one semester grade bump if AP exam is passed, tutoring offered once a week after school, Saturday review sessions prior to AP exam. Students will go scheduled classes during testing days.  

Testing will occur for 11th grade students during their English 11 and Math classes. 

  • 11th grade math students will report to the computer labs for testing.   A schedule for proctors and alternative classrooms for 9, 10 & 12th grade students TBD.
  • AP English 11 will have the option of completing the SBAC English exam after students have taken the AP exam.

Students who are not testing will be required to work on academic work in the cafeteria

 

LIBRARY NEWS:

     

The library’s open regular hours today/Monday only.  Minimum Days this week, the library’s closed during class time for testing. OPEN before school at 7:20 & after school til 12:45.

Students: Return your overdue library items to the library before or after school to get cleared the last weeks of school. 

 

Regular Library Hours: Mon, Tue. Wed. & Fri. 7:20—3:20 *Late start TH. 8:AM to 3:20

NOTE: April 7 last day checks accepted for library fines.  After April 10, cash payments only will be accepted.

COLLEGE/CAREER CENTER/SCHOLARSHIP NEWS:

Career Center Hours: Open before school @ 7:30, during both lunches and after school until 3:30.

Military in the Quad: Navy (Mondays); Marines (Wednesdays); Army (Thursdays)

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

Community Service Opportunity:  Volunteers needed for the Mother/Son Kickball event at Cosumnes River Elementary School. The event will be held on Sunday, April 30th, 1:00-5:00 p.m.  If you want to volunteer contact Ms. Taylor Johnson at taylorjohnsonphotography@yahoo.com

ATHLETIC ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The 2017 Glenn Poole Invitational is now in the books. This was the last regular season invitational of the season, and, as we start to ramp up for the Delta League Championships in May, we are sitting at just the right place, performance-wise. Overall, our Frosh/Soph Men continued their team dominance with another 1st Place Performance. Our Varsity Men were 2nd overall, and our Varsity Women finished 5th. (Coach Gates, 4/24)

 

Reminder - If you are interested in playing a fall sport you must have a 2.0 GPA or higher at the end of this current school year to be eligible to tryout.
