The SBAC (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium) Exam will be given to all 11th grade students in their English 11 and Math classes on April 19, 20, 21, 25,26, 27) We will be on a minimum day schedule for each of those days with two class period each day.
Scores from the SBAC are used to provide state colleges and universities with information for placement levels in their college English and mathematics courses. Students who score ‘college ready’ on the EAP exam do not have to take placement exams for CSU and community colleges.
The testing window is over a two week period and is embedded within the school day. Testing takes place in a student’s English and Math class in whatever period they have English and Math. So each student will be testing at different times, AND each student will still be required to attend all of the other classes that are scheduled during that particular day.
